Jon Kabat- Zinn is a well known physician that introduced Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to the medical world as a way to promote health and healing. That was in 1970. He is now known world wide as a mindful meditation teacher and he has been a leader in the mindfulness movement both in healthcare and everyday life. This book was my first step into mindfulness. Many of us feel that, at moments anyway, we have leading roles in Living out the FULL Catastrophe. About 20 years ago I sure did when I pulled this book off the library self.
This has amazing stories, science and mindfulness practices that you can use to help you manage stress and find resilience tools that may be engaging and effective for you. If you are currently facing health issues you will find new and innovative ways to approach your healing. It can be very empowering and hopeful as it will open new possibilities for you. Kabat-Zinn has gone on to write several other books worth exploring, along with some excellent videos you can find on youtube
